EMPOWERING WOMEN AND NON-BINARY MAKERS THROUGH THE ART OF WOODCRAFT

Your support makes our work possible! Thank you!

We are Fireweed Community Woodshop, formerly known as Women’s Woodshop, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 2017, we have empowered women and non-binary makers through the art of woodcraft.

Collaborating with a community of 50 independent contract instructors and makers—based here in Minnesota as well as nationally and internationally—to teach 150+ classes annually, Fireweed acts as a hub for artisans to share their knowledge and skills with more than 1,000 students each year.

We offer classes in three woodworking divisions: craft (spoon carving, basket weaving), furniture (table building, hand-cut dovetails), and be your own handy person (everything home renovation). We also offer Open Shop sessions where folks can come and use tools with the help of our skilled instructors.

Your generous support powers our programs for women and non-binary makers, helps expand class access via sliding scale pricing and no-questions-asked scholarships, and helps build a sustainable Fireweed that’ll be here for the long haul. Thank you!
