Support theater artists creating new works for the stage!

Fearless is all about supporting local artists that take risks and push boundaries. Our mission is to help Minnesota theater artists develop bold, new scripted works that entertain, engage, and enlighten audiences.

This past year, we were able to offer two opportunities for artists to develop and present new theatrical works:

1. Fearless Five: Power, a showcase of five original one-act plays about power dynamics in today's society - all written, directed, and performed by Twin Cities artists. The show was presented March 21-30 at the Phoenix Theater in Minneapolis.
2. In Development, a new play development series, where writers workshop new plays with directors and actors and then hear them performed for an audience, who also provided feedback. On July 17 & 18, we presented a reading of The Gravediggers Union by Brian James Polak at Open Book in Minneapolis, directed by Kevin T. Houle and featuring six local actors.

We want Fearless to be a safe and supportive place where artists can be fearless and reach new heights! In the year ahead, we're looking to continue our In Development series, as well as produce a full-length original play written, directed, and performed by Minnesota artists. To ensure artists get the support they need, we’ll be implementing our script review and development process that provides artists with helpful and encouraging feedback. 

As a nonprofit theater company, we do our best to keep costs down (things like rehearsal and performance space, sets and props), but we still rely on donations to help cover our costs so we can keep ticket prices affordable and accessible. We also value artists’ time and talents - from writers and actors to directors and technicians - and your donation will help ensure that we can provide appropriate compensation that rewards their efforts. Recruiting good talent is part of how we make sure to put on a good show!
