The Family Child Development Center is a place where children are free to grow and learn at their own pace!

FCDC's history is rich in community presence.  We began our journey in child care and educational programming in 1970 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1991.  FCDC is known for providing child care which feels like a home away from home.  It is our mission to nurture children's early learning through play and to do so,  our long term teaching staff strive to build environments where children's individual needs are supported.   Children are encouraged to explore materials hands-on and make learning discoveries led by their own interests.   We are dedicated to cultivating environments which are welcoming and inviting so that children are free to lead their learning and truly experience the magic of play!

Our Give to the Max 2020 Goals

In this difficult season,  FCDC is doing our best to respond to COVID-19.  We are working hard to mitigate risks, respond to the ever changing health and safety needs of our community and provide secure employment to our teachers.  While our income remains low, we are incurring  extra costs.  We are operating at reduced capacity, spending more on necessary cleaning and sanitation supplies and janitorial services.  We are also continuing to invest in our amazing staff and teachers knowing they are on the front lines of this pandemic and our most important resource.  Without them our mission to provide quality care and early learning experiences would be impossible.

We recognize it's a hard season for your family as well.   If you are able to give this year, please consider a contribution to Family Child Development Center and support our ability to make it past this hard season.   Your contribution would provide direct financial relief to our program and allow us to continue to respond to the ever changing needs of families and staff during this unprecedented time.

How can YOU help?

  • On November 19th, please visit, search for Family Child Development Center and consider a donation of $10 or more.  Every contribution makes a difference!
  • Each donation is tax deductible and GiveMN helps make that process easy by providing you tax receipts.
  • GiveMN retains a low processing fee allowing nearly 95% of your donation to go directly to your charity.  This means your donation will have an immediate and positive impact.
  • Would you help share our message with others who love your children as much as you do? Anyone can contribute to Give to the Max!  Please share our Give to the Max link and info with friends and family.  Every contribution supports our goal!  If each donor contributed $30, we would raise $2,000 to put towards our increased expenses.

In addition, your donation on Give to the Max Day may also help us receive an additional donation of $1,000!  How? Every gift made on November 19th through will be entered into an hourly drawing for a $1,000 GiveMN Golden Ticket to be awarded to a nonprofit organization. Your gift of $10 or more could instantly turn into an extra $1,000!

Here's the really exciting part: two donations made on during the Give to the Max Day campaign will be randomly selected to receive a $10,000 Super-Sized GiveMN Golden Ticket!  The more gifts we generate on during Give to the Max Day, the more our chances increase to receive that additional $10,000 donation. Imagine what we could do with an extra $10,000!

Please join us and help FCDC continue to nurture children's early learning through play.  Thank you for your generosity and support as we work towards our 2020 goal!

With appreciation,
