Farmington Faith United Methodist Church

Our Mission: Faith Church exists to serve and care for the community as we work to make disciples of Jesus Christ and grow together in relationship with God and with our neighbors.  

In doing so, we strive to develop a ministry dedicated to reaching out to our community,  service, learning, activities and events that invite them to come to Faith Church in a variety of ways.

Every Wednesday, we serve a community meal to more than 200 people, called Loaves and Fishes. The connection we try to make with people and the food served not only can fill a belly, it can fill the soul!

Every month, groups and individuals create amazing quilts and prayer blankets that are warm and comforting to those who receive them--people who are ill or injured, lonely, or without a warm place to sleep.  In November, dozens of neck warmers and blankets were donated to Dakota Woodlands, a women's shelter in Dakota county and still more are being prepared to give to others.

Every year, we find more opportunities to grow in love with God. This year, we have shared in small groups like "Taco Tuesday" over supper, and after great conversation ask one another the question, "How is it with your soul today?"  People have learned about Spiritual Gifts, how God has created us each to be both individuals and part of one whole body of Christ, and we've made plans around how to use our gifts in service to God--in the church, in our work, neighborhoods, and in ways to serve others.

Every year, we find more opportunities to grow in love with our neighbors.  Faith is a 55+ community ready to grow, committed to God...and to you, our neighbor.  

In order for us to fully live into what God is calling us to do, we need to all contribute and work together. Jesus asks us each to give proportionately according to our means...a "tithe" for instance is 10%, and 10% of a $10/hour job is $1 for one person, while 10% of $100,000 a year earnings is $10,000 for someone else. Both are giving back out of what God has provided, in order to do God's work together.   No matter who you are, or what you have, it is enough when we give it in love and ask God's blessing.
