1 in 5 families in Minnesota that have children is raising a child with extra medical, physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional needs.  

Parents raising children with extra needs often feel isolated and alone and struggle to navigate complex systems that can provide needed services and support. These parents have found great value in connecting with another parent through Family Voices of MN.  

Family Voices of MN is a parent run and staffed organization. All our staff and volunteers are parents raising children, youth or young adults with disabilities or other types of extra needs. We strive to ensure that no parent ever feels alone in their journey caring for their children and that they know they are part of a community that cares. 

Family Voices of MN provides a number of supports and services for families throughout Minnesota raising children and youth with extra needs, such as:

• 1 to 1 connection with another parent who has similar experiences or a child with similar needs
• Parent groups for networking, emotional support and acceptance
• Live Chat on our website with savvy veteran parents
• Educational Webinars to stay in the know
• Family Leadership and volunteer support parent trainings to grow as an advocate
