“Times are very hard for my children and I right now as I realize it is for many people. Not having money for groceries and food in my kiddos tummies is a scary thing. Thank you for bringing comfort to this momma’s heart.” – Catherine

Standing by the side of neighbors like Catherine is what Family Pathways exists to do.

Family Pathways mission is to work alongside people to enhance lives through a continuum of essential services and—together with community—champion positive social change. This mission is primarily realized through the operation of nine food shelves, a mobile food delivery program; as well as domestic abuse/sexual assault advocacy, the only domestic violence emergency shelter in 5,200 square miles, and aging services for seniors and caregivers. Each year, Family Pathways works alongside over 20,000  residents from the City of Forest Lake; Carlton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties in Minnesota and Polk County in Wisconsin.

When COVID-19 took hold in the Spring of 2020, community support made it possible for Family Pathways to pivot our normal ways of work and not only survive but also innovate. A new program, Doorstep Food Delivery, helps housebound seniors; and re-envisioned safe distribution models and remote advocacy strategies meet the needs of current and new clients.

Today, food insecurity is on the rise. Before 2020, 1 in 11 neighbors struggled to afford food. Today 1 in 8 individuals face hunger, 40% of them are children.

Family Pathways is here for the long haul. We need resources to build on the strategies we know are working.

Will you make a year-end donation today?
