Thank you for your generous donation to the Verndale Area Food Shelf. 100% of your donation has been used to feed hungry families in the Verndale/Aldrich/Wadena/Sebeka/Staples/Hewitt area!

The purpose of the food shelf is to assist hungry families in times of crisis.  Crisis often strikes at the most unsuspecting times and to the most unsuspecting people.  We have served many families who never used a food shelf before in their life. Several heartfelt stories with tears of thankfulness could be shared to highlight the significant role the food shelf plays.

Average pounds given each month:  4,306

Total pounds given in 2020:  51,682

Total family units served:  631

Total pounds given since opening in 2013: 343,360!

The food shelf operates Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Also, the first Thursday of the month from 5:00pm-7:00pm to better serve working families that cannot come during the day and elderly families receiving food through the NAPS program. We are especially glad that during the trying year of 2020 we were able to remain open and serve the families in the area with excellence.

Each year studies show an increasing need for emergency food support.  As word spreads and more families seek assistance, we ask that you please consider giving again in the year ahead. If you feel led, please consider giving on a regular monthly basis to help ensure this amazing resource in our community continues.
