Help Ethiopians in Minnesota become stronger

Ethiopians have been in Minnesota since 1970's. Despite our hard work and individual success, we fail to achieve great things in Minnesota as a community. For example, we don't have a community center where we display Ethiopia's rich culture and identity, and  historic achievements by our forefathers.

In 1995, a few determined Ethiopians established a community which was registered with the State of Minnesota. Despite this effort, there was no significant achievement in the last two decades. One reasons for this is the fact that we didn't have a strong leadership; that is until 2012. The current board of directors are dedicated to bring about positive change in a transparent manner that addresses the needs of its members.

Some other challenges the community faced was lack of membership. This was partially solved by the current leadership- almost 400 members are regitered willingly and a few of them volunteer their time to assist fellow Ethiopians.

Another reason is lack of sustainable funding that enables us to hire a staff that handles the issues within the community. That is where 99.9 % of the donations will go. Helping a person in need is what we stand for and every 10 dollars you donate goes to help several individuals within a day.
