Our Scholarship Fund enables couples in a dire financial situation to attend a Marriage Encounter free of charge.
Since 1972, Minnesota Marriage Encounter has had a rich tradition of celebrating, enriching and saving marriages in Minnesota and surrounding states, with a low-cost program sustained by free-will or value-based donations. We are a very lean inter-faith organization funded by the tax-deductible donations of attendees.
With one out of two marriages ending in divorce, it is evident a husband and wife need help in sustaining a life-time marriage. The incredible benefits of Marriage Encounter in our communities are: more stable, spiritual, growing and nurturing families. The experience serves the spiritual and emotional needs of a husband and wife by helping them to openly and honestly communicate, without any group sharing, therapy or marriage counseling. A happily married couple are better parents, members of society and employees. Statistics show an intact family contributes to the stable growth of children for generations to come. The future transformation of our world begins at the heart of society ~ the family.
Marriage Encounter helps build stronger marriages through open and honest communication. Following are a few comments from our October 8-9, 2016 weekend to the questions;
"Why did you come here?" and "What have you achieved?"
“This weekend was truly one of the most important and emotional experiences we have had. In some ways we feel it saved our marriage and we plan to do this again in the future. The two couples who led the weekend were truly amazing. The stories they shared were so very powerful. We want to personally thank them for what they have done to help us.”
“Time away together, intentional dialogue.”
“Overnight, Christian values and fun with each other while connecting.”
“Best way to avoid outside distractions/excuses that have a habit of getting in the way of the ‘real’ important stuff!”
“Reached a desperate point in our marriage. Better understanding and plan to hopefully save our marriage.”
“Couldn’t open the lines of communication, failing marriage and thinking about divorce. This weekend has helped to start to open the lines of communication. Help breakdown some of the walls I personally have had up for a very long time. This weekend has also helped me see why I want my marriage to work so badly.”
“I hope my wife knows I’m trying.”
“More open communication about issues which matter in our relationship.”
“Found a real great platform to start rebuilding our relationship and start heading in the right direction.”
“Opening of communication. Getting the other person’s perspective. Tools for growing closer.”
