Ely Area Food Shelf

The mission of the Ely Area Food Shelf is to work to alleviate hunger in Ely and the surrounding area. Since 2002, the Ely Area Food Shelf has been working with our partners to end food insecurity in our community. Our partners in this venture include volunteers, financial supporters, and organizations from Ely and beyond.

Every month, the Ely Area Food Shelf serves over 200 households representing 460 individuals. In 2024, the food shelf provided nearly 200,000 pounds of food. We work hard to make fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, milk, eggs, and hygiene products available to our shoppers.

The Ely Area Food Shelf is open for shopping the third Wednesday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again the following Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Home delivery is available for the homebound, and emergency assistance is only a phone call away. 

The Ely Area Food Shelf is grateful to the many volunteers and financial supporters who make sure that their neighbors do not go hungry.
