EDIT

EDIT the World. Start with You.

EDIT's mission is to empower youth to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion together in our communities through service-learning, leadership, and the arts.

Since 2009, EDIT has equipped and inspired more than 1,000 youth to make a difference in their community through the arts. Please help us continue to help youth voices be heard and valued as they shape the issues that matter to them. Your donation will continue programming that has the following impacts:

  1. ART MAKES OUR COMMUNITY VIBRANT. Youth-led photo projects demonstrate the beauty of summer in north Minneapolis, with their work installed on permanent community display. Recycled water bottles and reclaimed bicycle parts become a chandelier lighting up the Greenway. Hundreds of hands work together to needle felt a community peace mandala. Musicians and spoken-word artists entertain while they educate.
  2. YOUTH LEARN TO LEAD. Program evaluation results are clear: EDIT youth overwhelming state that because of our programming, they see themselves as artists, leaders in their schools in communities, and people capable of improving their world.
  3. WE BECOME STRONGER TOGETHER. EDIT's work demonstrates this principle. EDIT leverages a small staff and a core group of dedicated artists and volunteers to amplify its impact. We partner with Emerge to bring PhotoVoice to youth in its afterschool and summer programming.. We partner with youthrive to bring collaborative arts with a social justice purpose to 500 youth and adults at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum Youth Festival. We activate new networks and inspire new ideas, bringing partners to bushCONNECT. Through the first annual Twin Cities Social Justice Arts Festival, we bring together 1000 people to share their art and be inspired with messages of economic, racial, and social justice.
Help us to continue to make projects like these possible in 2016. We need your help to serve more than 300 youth in the coming year, helping them bring their ideas to life.
