Edina ABC provides an excellent college-prep education to academically gifted students of color from families of modest means.

What can $12,000 do for Edina ABC?  It costs about $12,000 to support each additional student we add to our program.  This does not include our general housing and program costs.  So $12,000 can pay for two additional kids to have this awesome opportunity!  It can also buy groceries and household supplies for about 5 months, or pay for airfare to send all of our scholars home for winter and summer breaks for 2 years.  We are a small program, and every dollar counts.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

About Our Program

Since 1972, the Edina ABC Foundation has offered an excellent college-preparatory education to students of color from around the country who are academically talented and highly motivated but have limited access to an academically rigorous high school education.

We admit 2 students per year through an extensive and competitive application and interview process.  Edina ABC students live in family-like environment in our boarding house in Edina while attending 9th-12th grade at Edina High School, which is a top-rated school both locally and nationally.  Edina ABC provides our students with a safe and nurturing home-away-from-home as well as thorough academic and personal support, including in-house tutoring and local host families.

We have graduated more than 150 students since 1972.  100% of our graduates attend college. More than 40% of scholars obtain graduate or masters degrees.

We partner with the national A Better Chance (ABC) organization and are part of a network of more than 300 ABC programs and 500 ABC scholars at excellent public and private schools from coast to coast.  ABC recruits and receives applications from hundreds of talented students of color around the country and refers qualified candidates to local ABC chapters for admission consideration.

Our program is independently funded and operated and our students participate at no cost thanks to the generous support of our donor and volunteer community.
