Duluth Sister Cities International - Building Bridges to Global Understanding.

Help us make a World of Difference.

Through both official and unofficial delegation exchanges with adults and youth alike, as well as various international arts & culture projects, Duluth Sister Cities International has created strong bonds with five international cities across three continents. Though the purpose may vary, ranging from recreation to professional partnerships, these exchanges aim to connect citizens from each country in a profound way: enabling education and growth for all parties involved.

Through partnerships with local organizations, DSCI works to enhance the lives of all Duluthians not only through international travel but also local endeavors:like the planting of Milkweed in Sister Cities Park in partnership with Friends of the Lakewalk to encourage growth of pollinator species.

In our area, Sister City programs have been connecting communities, strengthening relationships, and creating international partnerships since 1986. Our five sister cities are: Rania, Iraqi-Kurdistan; Isumi-City, Japan; Växjö, Sweden; Petrozavodsk, Russia; and Thunder Bay, Canada.

Our volunteers partner with the City of Duluth in order to beautify and maintain many Duluth parks, such as the Japanese Peace Bell Garden in Enger Park, and Sister Cities Park above the Lakewalk.
