The Duluth Community Garden Program's mission is to cultivate healthy local neighborhoods by providing access to land, resources, and community.

We create opportunities for everyone to garden -  regardless of experience, income, neighborhood, or other barriers - and have been doing so for over 40 years. Our initial vision of turning vacant lots into productive gardens has grown into 250+ garden plots at 21 different garden sites--and we are building a 22nd community garden right now in the Endion neighborhood!

Our goal is to raise $1000 on Give to the Max Day this year. This will cover the costs of building a rainwater catchment system at our newest community garden. Rainwater catchment systems collect rainwater for use by gardeners, helping our gardens be more sustainable and self-sufficient. Rainwater collection decreases the need for water deliveries or water hauling by gardeners, which also makes our gardens more accessible to people that walk, bike, or bus to their garden plots.

As a small nonprofit organization, we could not do our work without donations from community members like you, who know the numerous joys and benefits that gardening provides, and believe that everyone deserves access to the land and resources necessary to garden. Your gifts help ensure that we are able to maintain and improve our garden infrastructure, provide gardening tools and food preservation equipment, and provide educational resources to support gardener success, all while offering our services on a sliding scale.

Your support subsidizes the cost of garden plots for DCGP, which in turn gives local families the opportunity to grow their own food in community. Thank you!
