Did you know? 

• According to the World Bank and World Health Organization, about 80% of the 1.3 billion people with disabilities in our world today live in developing countries, where little or no help exists.
• We cannot adequately deal with extreme poverty if we don't include those with disabilities, because disability and poverty exist in a vicious cycle.
• Many people around the world lack access to information about the causes for disabilities or how to help. This means that people with disabilities are often discriminated against, shunned, isolated, abandoned, and cannot succeed or contribute to their communities, although they have the potential to do so.

We are DSI  and we believe we can and should work to change this current reality in our world! 

We partner and equip local disability changemakers in low and middle-income countries to build upon existing strengths and provide support that works toward sustainable progress forward.
