The Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center provides quality experiences to learn, grow and play.

The Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center is dedicated to providing quality opportunities to learn, grow and play for people of all ages in Detroit Lakes and the surrounding area.  Created in 2001, the organization includes The Center - a comprehensive fitness and aquatics center, The Backyard indoor playground, The Historic Holmes Theatre and the Holmes Art Cellar.  Through a partnership with the City of Detroit Lakes, the DLCCC also coordinates youth and adult recreational sports and activities throughout the community.  The DLCCC is the most visited public building in the City of Detroit Lakes with daily visits of approximately 750 to the Center and tens of thousands of annual visits to The Historic Holmes Theatre.  The organization is committed to serve all people, regardless of ability to pay and offers a variety of scholarship programs to individuals in need.

Due to Covid-19, the DLCCC closed its doors on March 16.  Eighty percent of the DLCCC revenue comes from memberships, ticket sales and other direct services which were eliminated at the time of closing.  The organization has applied for and received some governmental Covid-19 assistance, however, donations are  essential to sustain the ongoing operations and services of the organization.  Many members and theatre patrons have contributed over the past two months, and continued support through the Minnesota Gives program will help to continue these efforts and sustain the vital community services of the DLCCC into the future.
