U.S friends partner with Daystar University, a Christian liberal arts university in Nairobi, Kenya, to educate the next generation of Christ-centered African leaders. Daystar University is one of the largest and most reputable Christian universities in East Africa. Daystar combines rigorous academic excellence with a robust Christ-centered vision for servant leadership and integrity. Daystar University is financially self-sustaining through student tuition. Daystar U.S. raises extra funds for scholarships, capital projects, and the Daystar Fund that enriches each student and faculty member’s experience at Daystar.
Daystar has an enrollment of over 4,300 students in 32 undergraduate programs, 16 masters’ programs, and 2 Ph.D. programs. Today there are over 20,000 Daystar graduates dispersed throughout Africa and the world who are providing leadership in government, churches, ministry organizations, NGOs, education, and in every aspect of African society.
- In the face of governments that are riddled with corruption, the development of servant leaders with integrity is the greatest need in Africa today. Twenty thousand Daystar graduates are leaders who are doing just that – standing up for truth in a world that seems to offer no hope for a solution.
- Daystar graduates have and continue to saturate the professional landscape in Kenya: healthcare, psychology, ministry, government, & media are just some of the major fields are graduates are making impact in.
- Daystar's student body is 65% female. Why is this important? Historically women have had less access to education than their male counterparts in Africa. Daystar is changing this deficit.
