MEET PEMBE. You can always find Pembe running around the soccer field; he is a top student and a treasured friend to his classmates. If this wasn't enough, Pembe does this all with only one foot.
Pembe is an inspiration to his fellow students and the Daylight staff. When Pembe was an infant he lost his foot when armed thieves attacked his village. Daylight committed to doing everything we can to help him, so we outfitted him with a prosthetic foot. When Pembe put it on he walked to class an inch taller and smiling. Pembe is the first person in his family to go to school.
Pembe is just one of 400 students who’s lives have been changed with community and education through Daylight Center and School in Kenya.
We are saving children’s lives by providing them with safety, food, shelter, and an education.
We aim to educate a new generation of leaders to serve and transform their communities and inspire other ways of livelihood - to realize a peaceful future for themselves. Daylight is located in the city of Kapenguria at the edge of the nomadic lands. Today, Daylight has committed teachers providing education for 400 kids who come from tribes across the region.
With your gift, you are helping Daylight educate young leaders and you are a part of bringing peace and hope to Kenya's nomadic culture.
