Our Mission 

Devoted to Minnesota wildlife.

We strive to help kids to be closer to nature. To provide education centered on Minnesota wildlife in their natural habitat and helping protect it, to spread compassion for and bring awareness to our wildlife. To educate the future generations on the importance of our wilderness. Bringing the Wild and Kids Together and, break away from the electronic world and forget about, difficulties in the world, to come stay, have fun adventures and make memories! 

Dark Star Wildlife Center is  learning of  Minnesota wildlife species, habitats and why they suit the characteristics of the animals that live in them. Why wildlife habitat is so important. 

 Having evolved into offering educational programs for kids we emphasize educating children about the importance of wildlife safety, habitat preservation, wilderness awareness, and our ability to co-exist with Minnesota wildlife.  Hosting free of charge overnight camping and admission to veterans and low income families.

Dark Star Wildlife Center is funded solely by donations and receives no state or federal funding.

The greatest place for our kid’s to be on earth is just outside the doors, learning of wildlife, exploring in the forests, playing in the dirt, jumping in mud puddles, splashing in streams, climbing tree’s. Falling and scraping a knee is far less hurt then living a life plugged into the wall.
