Dark & Stormy Productions seeks to enrich the community by providing artistically excellent, relevant, and thought-provoking professional productions that engage and inspire both the audience and the artists.

Recently, a supporter and patron called Dark & Stormy the "Off-Broadway" theater of the Twin Cities. You get to see the top talent in town in small spaces, telling vital, truthful, exquisitely human stories. The intimacy allows you to explore how the story moves you and connects you to the other people in the room and your life.

The feeling of community this creates is critical in this time of disconnection and darkness in the world. Theater shines a light into our hearts and our humanity, and it helps us to understand that we aren't alone.

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie was our most successful endeavor yet, drawing tremendous audiences and intriguing and enchanting theater-goers with a classic story of substance. This was our first collaboration with the University of Minnesota, allowing us to mentor and perform onstage alongside students. Though we retained our intimate performance space, this was also our first large-scale production, with a cast of 10 and a creative team of 8, collaborating to create three magical acts portraying the struggle of the human spirit.

Founded in 2012 and named Best Theater by City Pages (2016), Dark & Stormy has three primary goals:
