Help Preserve and Share Our Vibrant Czech and Slovak Cultural Heritage

Do you have fond memories of dinners and dances at the C.S.P.S. Hall?  Or perhaps you've enjoyed children’s gymnastics and folkdance. Maybe you’ve taken a language class, or learned to make grandma’s long-lost recipe in a cooking class. Your donation to Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota will help ensure that YOU, our children, grandchildren, and all who follow can CONTINUE TO share similar experiences.

Our historic hall is home to traditional ethnic-themed events, classes, dinners, gymnastics, folk dance, family nights and more. We also host lectures, films, plays, community and neighborhood events, and other gatherings. Our Slovo newsletter keeps readers informed about news and activities, and our gift shop has unique holiday gifts for everyone on your list. To find out more, visit our website www.sokolmn.org

Sadly, many ethnic social halls are dying off: shuttered, sold, or demolished. Meanwhile, the C.S.P.S. Hall is being lovingly, painstakingly restored and updated--a reflection of the vibrant cultural and community activities it hosts. Recent and ongoing improvements include a sprinkler system, air conditioning, a new fire escape, and more. This is a huge task, and Sokol Minnesota needs your help to continue.

Please support our cultural programs and building restoration. Thank you!

Our History

Since 1882, Sokol Minnesota has been an institution on St. Paul’s West End. Run by volunteers, Sokol provides fitness and community for individuals and families through physical, educational, cultural, and social programs. Everyone is welcome at our events, and no Czech or Slovak ancestry is required for membership.

The C.S.P.S. Hall is the longest serving Czech-Slovak cultural center in the United States, as well as the oldest theater and national hall in Minnesota. It was declared a National and State Historic Site in 1977, and placed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
