Curatio Apostolate: Healing from the Heart of Christ!

Catholics in healthcare face many challenges. Curatio is an Archdiocesan approved Apostolate that provides retreats, educational conferences and presentations in addition to prayer and networking opportunities.  Help us transform and grow Christ centered healthcare vocations!

Generous donations are needed to sustain operations!  We are in need of on-going support to cover costs including; software, printers, website, phone systems, administrative fees, banners, flyers, professional stipends, promotional items, scholarships for students to attend retreats, formation programs, materials, etc.

Curatio is solely funded by individual donors and faithful volunteers!

Curatio is Latin for “healing.”  It means we Catholic healthcare professionals live to bring God’s healing presence to our patients, to every human interaction. It is a healing that sees and loves the whole person, entirely and completely, bodily and spiritually. We strive to see as Christ “sees”, to love as Christ loves.  Our work then is more than technical activity but is one of dedication to the love of God, neighbor and self.  The animating principle of our compassion and caring  is Curatio ex Corde Christi: Healing from the Heart of Christ!  The apostolate of Curatio is attempting to strengthen medical professionals to be what they are called by God to be, and perhaps one day, to restore medicine to its Christian roots.

MISSION STATEMENTS:

  • AS CATHOLIC HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, WE PURSUE OUR VOCATION TO CARE AND HEAL WITH LOVE AND RESPECT...

  • WE OPEN OURSELVES TO THE LIFE OF GRACE WHILE WORKING TO BUILD AND DEFEND A CULTURE OF LIFE...

  • WE RESPECT THE INHERENT DIGNITY OF THE HUMAN PERSON WHO IS CREATED IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD...

  • WE ACT AS “LEAVEN” WITHIN THE HEALTH CARE PROFESSION IN OBEDIENCE TO THE GOSPEL...

  • WE  ARE  COMMITTED TO HELPING  THOSE WHO WORK IN HEALTHCARE TO GROW IN HOLINESS SO THEY  MAY BE CHRIST FOR OTHERS AND  SEE CHRIST IN OUR PATIENTS AND COWORKERS.

“I have come to know Curatio as a vibrant apostolate in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. I am grateful for the support that is offers to Catholic health care professionals striving, as Pope Francis has challenged, to be ‘hands, arms and hearts which help God to perform His miracles.’ Rooting its members in prayer and leading them to the Heart of Christ, Curatio offers a powerful witness to the Gospel of Life, articulated for our age by Saint John Paul II and embraced heroically by Curatio’s heavenly patron, St. Gianna Beretta Molla.”

--- Most Rev. Bernard Hebda, Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis

“Curatio helps Catholics who work in health care to live out their call to holiness in the day to day circumstances of their lives. Not only does Curatio support those in the medical profession to be faithful Catholics, but they also help them to deepen their spiritual lives. I am grateful for all that Curatio does to bring the Gospel of life into all aspects of their work in caring for the sick and suffering. They are a blessing in the lives of many.”

--- Most Rev. Andrew Cozzens, Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis
