Cultural Diversity Council Upper MN River Valley

Cultural Diversity Council of the Upper Minnesota River Valley began in December  of 2011. This was the year of our first Theatrical  and Fine Art offering for a Community Holiday Show  performed in Montevideo at Hollywood on Main, LLC.

We started as a group of like-minded musical performers, fine artists and theatrical technicians. Our artists were comprised of many diverse social backgrounds and heritages. Our show case illustrated our various ethnic traditions celebrated during the Holidays.

Audiences love the style of our Events and recommended their friends and neighbors to join in the fun over the the past decade.

All participants in the Holiday Show and Exhibit have donated time and personal funds to sustain this venture. We also have enjoyed giving to various charities as a major component toward the admission price. We ask our audiences to bring cans of food for the local Food Shelf, and donate to Salvation Army upon entering the Event lobby.  We also give to local Santa Anonymous and encourage the donations of slightly used coats for families in need.

As our Events have become more spectacular, our performance volunteers can no longer sustain the costs of Event production. Thus, we rolled out our Charity -Nonprofit in 2017.

We feature Memberships and Sponsorships as a way to fund our Seasonal Shows and Exhibits. Our Charitable Giving has provided over one ton of food for the needy, as well as coats, toys, and other local funds so appreciated year-round.

As we grow, we are expanding our Nonprofit Board from local to regional residents in order to reflect the  greater needs of the Upper Minnesota River Valley.

Our artistic goal is to provide quality Family Entertainment and Exhibits throughout every Season of the year. Our contribution to society is to provide a sustainable platform for constructive communications and bridging.

We wish to Celebrate our Differences as a tool to bring Everyone Together, rather than Tear Apart. Cultural Diversity Council of the Upper Minnesota River Valley has a very simple Mission Statement:

“Blessing Heart and Mind, as We Gather- Every Time. TOGETHER, We Will Celebrate our Diversity with LOVE, HOPE and KINDNESS”.
