Carver Scott Humane Society
Connecting animals in need with people who care.

Carver Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved. Your support provides refuge, medical care, foster homes, and families to animals in need.

With your meaningful support, we will continue to provide every animal - and person -  in our path with love, care, and advocacy.

What You Make Possible

Adopters Welcome:

We pride ourselves on being there for people as much as animals. At Carver Scott Humane Society, we lower adoption barriers so good people can adopt good pets. We do this by approaching adoptions from a place of yes. Instead of rigorous applications and policies, we have conversations and build relationships with our adopters.

Pet Support:

We help keep pets with their owners through the good times and the bad by providing resources and assistance to help families and pets stay together. From helping families through hardship by providing pet food to our temporary foster programs to keep pets safe until they can go back home,  we are here for you - judgment free - so you don't have to say goodbye.

There's only one way to help animals - together. We partner with many other MN rescues and organizations to best serve animals and the people who love them. Additionally, we partner with overwhelmed and crowded shelters in other parts of the country that need our help.

We're committed to our community. As the only animal shelter in southwestern MN, we know our community relies on us. We are here to help them find their new best friend, answer their questions about pet ownership, offer rewarding opportunities to volunteer with animals, and provide resources like pet food.

We are committed to working collaboratively with our community and rescue partners to provide refuge, medical care, foster homes, and a second chance to animals in need. We work with a dedicated team of over 200 volunteers to offer foster-based care to animals before they are adopted into a new home. Additionally, we have a cat adoption space at our Wellness Center in Chaska.

We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart, Petco, and Bentley's to feature adoptable cats in their stores and host adoption events.
