Corcoran Community Fund

Corcoran Country Daze is a kid friendly, two-day outdoor festival that brings members of the community together for great food, music, and activities including: an antique car and tractor show, a free free kid’s day, fireworks and fun.   

The event is run by volunteers from the community and is led by the chair of the Corcoran Community Fund. The event was started as a way to create civic pride and bring Corcoran together as the city covers 53 square miles, but only has a population of around 8,000 people. 

The free kid’s day is the cornerstone of our weekend, with over 3000 people visiting us Saturday to spend the day with their kids. We offer educational activities for kids as well as other activities to let the kids play without concerns about cost. Some activities during that day include: inflatables for kids to climb and play, a hay slide that was constructed by our local FFA club, a music school that brings its instruments for the kids to play and discover music, a karate school that does demonstrations and teaches kids basic moves, kids bingo which uses shapes and cover colors instead of numbers so all the kids can play and practice their identification skills, and local handymen/construction trade members join to help kids build birdhouses or feeders. 

One of our favorite parts of kid’s day is our school backpack giveaway. We pack the backpacks with school supplies, including markers, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, glue, glue sticks, a pencil box, folders, and a notebook. We gave away over 900 at this year‘s event at no cost to any child that needed one. Our goal is to help all children in our community start the school year off not worrying about having the necessary supplies for their success in the classroom. 

Our concerts and sponsors help allow us to put our kids day event on at no cost. Additionally, we support our community emergency response teams through donations and we provide disaster and emergency relief through our profits from Corcoran Country Daze.

The Corcoran Community Fund is run wholly by volunteers, no one takes a salary as our mission is to give as much back to the community to help all ways we can.
