For 35 incredible years, Cookie Cart has depended on donors to support us as we work to empower young people to realize their potential and step into their bright futures through on-the-job learning and leadership training.
Thanks to donors like you, Sister Jean's simple recipe of investing time in young people, baking cookies, and teaching business skills has created a revolutionary movement that has impacted more than 10,000 young people in the Twin Cities.
"In my 9 months at Cookie Cart, I learned to be a professional, a public speaker, a hard worker, competitive in the workforce, and I learned a new level of responsibility. I believe the skills I learned at Cookie Cart will carry over and make me better at whatever I do in the future." Justin, CART Captian, Saint Paul

Cookie Cart is a nonprofit youth social enterprise! We work with teens in North Minneapolis and the East Side of Sant Paul. We seek equitable communities where Cookie Cart alumni thrive and lead. We value the potential of every young person, equity and opportunity, the power of relationships, and compassionate accountability.
The idea to come into a community and provide opportunities for young people to learn and grow is not new or particularly unique, but the idea to invest by teaching something as simple as baking cookies and instilling business skills created a revolutionary movement that has impacted over 10,000 young people in the Twin Cities. Sister Jean’s simple recipe of investing time in young people and meeting them where they are proved to be the perfect mix of ingredients to create something that has had a profound impact on North Minneapolis and East Saint Paul.
As we reflect on 35 incredible years, we cannot help but be struck by the wonderful privilege we all have; shepherding young people through a pivotal time in their lives and empowering them with respect, opportunity, and compassionate accountability. After all these years, Cookie Cart’s aim remains: to teach life, leadership, and employment skills for teens of color through on-the-job and classroom experiences in two nonprofit bakeries. We seek to honor each young person we have the privilege and responsibility to serve as they enter our doors.
"What I love about Cookie Cart is that it opens up unlimited possibilities for the students who are part of Cookie Cart. It helps them tap into so many skills that will serve them so much in the future. It is truly something special and one of a kind." - Larissa Loden, Matching Donor
