SUPPORT CELC

This Give to the Max Day we are asking for you to support what makes Como Early Learning Center (CELC) special

CELC’s teachers are special. All of our teachers have a background in child development. This means that paired with our low student to teacher ratio, your student has more meaningful one on one opportunities throughout the day.

CELC’s classrooms are special. In each classroom teachers and staff have put a lot of thought into providing the right environmental conditions for your student to learn. Our materials highlight process over product and are open-ended to build a variety of developmental skills.

CELC’s class projects are special. This year we made pizza, pico de gallo, and no-bake apple pie. By cooking your student learned to take turns, listen to directions, and try new foods.

CELC’s field trips are special. Each summer the preschool classrooms take weekly trips to Van Cleve Park, Saint Anthony Park Library, Saint Paul Fire Station, and the Raptor Center. These trips taught your student about their surrounding community and helped them to make connections to what they are learning in group time.

CELC's location is special. Teachers and students enjoy taking walks and playing on the many playgrounds within the Como Student Community Cooperative. During these walks, your student enjoyed fresh air while learning about the changing of seasons and animals.

CELC's diversity is special. Our students are diverse - at CELC our students come from 5 different continents and speak16 different languages. This means your student is exposed to new cultures and new languages every day.

CELC's student families are special. CELC has over 40 years of experience tailoring programs to meet the unique needs of UMN student parents. This means we are able to provide the flexibility and support many of our families need as they work hard to get their degrees.

CELC’s parents are special. We build on our learning success in the classroom through community events designed to bring staff and parents closer, bridging the gap from home to school. These events gave your student a sense of belonging and consistency between school and home.

We are asking for your help in keeping CELC special by donating this Give to the Max.

Every donation enters CELC for a chance to win an additional $500 to $10,000 from GiveMN. Donate and please help spread the word to friends and family.
