Community Mediation Minnesota (CMM) is a statewide nonprofit working to make peaceful, just, and restorative responses to conflict available to everyone in Minnesota.
We represent a network of Community Dispute Resolution Programs (CDRPs) across the state to provide free or low-cost mediation and restorative services so that individuals, families, and communities can resolve conflict safely, respectfully, and outside of the courtroom whenever possible.
What We Do
Through our statewide network, CMM helps Minnesotans navigate conflict in many settings, including:
Families & Relationships – supporting parents, co-parents, and extended family members in having difficult conversations and reaching agreements that center children and well-being.
Housing & Landlord–Tenant Issues – helping renters and property owners resolve disputes early, prevent evictions when possible, and stabilize housing.
Schools & Youth – partnering with schools and youth programs to use restorative practices that build belonging, repair harm, and reduce suspensions and exclusions.
Neighborhoods & Communities – facilitating conversations between neighbors, community groups, and local partners to address tensions, build understanding, and strengthen trust.
Courts & Systems – offering mediation options that divert cases from the court system, reduce costs, and support more humane, collaborative outcomes.
Every year, thousands of Minnesotans turn to community mediation for help with some of the hardest moments in their lives. Our role is to make sure that support is accessible, culturally responsive, and grounded in dignity for everyone involved.
Why Your Gift Matters
Your support strengthens a statewide safety net for conflict.
Donations to CMM help us:
Keep mediation and restorative services free or low-cost, regardless of someone’s income.
Train and support mediators, facilitators, and community practitioners across Minnesota.
Expand our reach to communities who have historically had less access to justice and conflict resolution resources.
Build partnerships with schools, courts, housing partners, and community organizations to respond to harm in healing, restorative ways.
When you give to CMM, you are investing in practical tools for peace—helping people stay housed, keep families connected, and repair relationships instead of breaking them apart.
Thank you for standing with us to build a more peaceful, connected Minnesota where every person has access to fair, compassionate ways to resolve conflict.
