Communitas Twin Cities

Communitas Twin Cities is a Christ-centered community serving people who are unhoused, formerly unhoused, or experiencing deep poverty in St. Paul. We build relationships and provide practical and spiritual support—including meals, transportation assistance, basic necessities, prayer, encouragement, and connections to resources. Our goal is not simply to meet an immediate need, but to create a community where people experience dignity, belonging, stability, and the love of Jesus.

Here are just some examples:

James and Paula lived outside.   James was not allowed access a shelter due to anger issues he. had displayed in the past.   We had an extremely frigid week one winter where the temperature was below freezing for days.   They needed to get inside- and warm.   

Communitas Twin Cities paid for a hotel for them for three nights to get them through the dangerous cold.

Donald, an army veteran, lives in Veterans Affairs (VA) subsidized housing on a meager Social Security allowance.  Due to government funding cuts that were made, he no longer receives assistance for his electric bill and is unable to afford it.    If Donald could not maintain payment on this bill he was going to lose his VA housing as he needs to demonstrate stability. 

Communitas Twin Cities stepped in to ensure his electric bill was caught up to give Donald breathing room.
