Minnesota's Virtuoso Concert Choir

CHORUS POLARIS, a premiere community choral ensemble based in the Twin Cities, is comprised of 50 professional, semi-professional, and talented amateur singers. Led by Artistic Director William H. Mathis, our repertoire spans nearly 1,000 years, from the Renaissance to jazz, to choral masterworks complete with orchestra.

Our Mission

Our mission is to engage, connect, and strengthen communities through collaboration and educational outreach. Our goal is the pursuit of choral excellence that engages audiences while sharing and celebrating the human experience through music. Our vision is a world in which communities support, collaborate, and care for everyone while respecting each person’s individuality.

Our 2023-24 Season Overview

Our 2023-24 season opens in December with Merry and Bright: Sounds of the Season, a holiday collaboration with Bells of the Lakes, an outstanding handbell choir.

In February, we join the Northern Lights Chorale and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Chorale as the chorus for Mississippi Valley Orchestra's performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 (the "Resurrection" symphony).

The highlight of our season will be our social justice concert in March 2024 featuring the Dave Brubeck cantata, The Gates of Justice. Brubeck composed this piece in 1969 in response to the strife that developed between Black and Jewish Americans following the 1968 assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Finally, in May, Chorus Polaris will travel in song to Broadway!
