Our Mission

Our mission is to engage, connect, and strengthen communities through collaboration and educational outreach.

Our goal is the pursuit of choral excellence that engages audiences while sharing and celebrating the human experience through music.

Our vision is a world in which communities support, collaborate, and care for everyone while respecting each person’s individuality.

Our Need

Our choral risers have supported decades of music, and now they’ve reached their final verse. Built in the 1970s (or thereabouts), they’re no longer safe for many of our older and physically-challenged choristers. This Give to the Max Day, we’re raising $15,000 for new risers with safety railings to ensure every voice has a safe place to sing.

Our 2025-26 Season

Chorus Polaris began its 2025-26 performance season in a joint concert with the choirs of Irondale High School.

We are now preparing our biennial holiday concert with Bells of the Lakes, one of Minnesota's premier handbell ensembles. Also on the docket this season is a Valentine's Gala held on Valentine's Day 2026. We'll wrap up our season in May when we join the Mississippi Valley Orchestra in their presentation of Beethoven's 9th Symphony! Sign up for our newsletter to keep apprised of these and other events as we schedule them!

About Us

CHORUS POLARIS is a premier community choral ensemble based in the Twin Cities comprised of more than 50 professional, semi-professional, and talented amateur singers. Led by Artistic Director William H. (Bill) Mathis, our repertoire spans nearly 1,000 years, from the Renaissance to jazz, to modern and traditional choral masterworks. Understanding the unique role the arts play in sustaining strong communities, Chorus Polaris touches the lives of people through artistic excellence that engages audiences and shares and celebrates the human experience through music.
