Minnesota's Virtuoso Chamber Choir

Chorus Polaris is an eclectic Community Chamber Chorus of 50 professional and amateur singers guided by William Mathis, artistic director and conductor.  We sing an extraordinary range of music, from Renaissance motets to jazz to masterworks with orchestra. We work hard to get out from behind the music, singing with spirit, expression, and skill.

Fall concerts: we collaborated with Park Center High School Choir in stirring repertoire with the theme "Being Together, Singing Together, Living Together."  February concerts feature newly commissioned "Song of Nature" by David Evan Thomas based on an extended poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  April's joint concert  with Edina Chorale and the Mississippi Valley Orchestra features "Requiem for the Living" by Dan Forrest.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS:

"Great song selection. Beautiful singing. Beautiful setting. "

WOW - Pipe organ - What a treat!" "Wonderful - Made my day!"

"Love these concerts. Hope they continue for a long time.”

OUR MISSION:

Chorus Polaris connects with the community through a broad range of musical styles, educational outreach, and collaboration. Our members pursue choral excellence to achieve expressive power that engages audiences in the celebration of the human experience through music. Every singer is vital to our success. Each of us learns not just the notes, but the style of singing called for in each song in our repertoire. Our rehearsals are richly musical with exhilarating challenge for our singers that makes our concerts phenomenal.
