A charity that uses food to bring love

Chef Lucas Food is a Minnesota charity founded by childhood cancer survivor, Lucas Hobbs, to use his food trucks in the Spirit of his Make-A-Wish to serve and raise funds for those battling childhood illness, the homeless, senior citizens, teachers, those that serve, as well as religious communities.

Serving the community with a Bustaraunt and Pizza Truck 

Since going into remission for his cancer seven years ago, Chef Lucas Food has fed thousands throughout the United States, to include three Children's Hospitals nationwide: Minnesota, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Additionally, Chef Lucas has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for numerous charities to include cooking with and learning from chefs like Andrew Zimmern, local Chef Yia Vang and the legendary Carolina BBQ Pit master Ed Mitchell. The Minnesota Vikings and U.S. Bank Stadium named Lucas a "Hometown Hero" in 2017. 

More recently, Chef Lucas launched the Chef Lucas Pizza food truck and was named a "Ten under Twenty" food hero in the United States by Hormel Foods and Harvard University.  The Chef Lucas Pizza truck provides pizza free of charge to families and organizations in the battle against childhood cancer and other serious illnesses. This year, Chef Lucas Food was awarded the Don Shelby service award by Ronald McDonald House - Upper Midwest for the countless pizza visits our team made to the House that "love" built. We also set a personal record by raising $21,000 at auction in October 2022 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation with one Bustaurant dinner.

In summary, Chef Lucas Food's mission is to use food trucks to help the numerous organizations that serve the greater good in our communities. Whether we use our pizza food truck to feed a hospital, or our Bustaurant to raise funds for organizations like the American Cancer Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Ronald McDonald House, or simply to feed those in need, Chef Lucas Food strives to perform acts of kindness designed to strengthen our community. 

All funds raised will be used to cover the costs of our food truck operations.
