Celtic Junction Arts Center

Arts & Culture Resource:

Recognizing the depth and creative core of the Irish legacy, Celtic Junction promotes and presents Irish and Irish-American artistic and cultural initiatives on both sides of the Atlantic. Along with the Celtic Junction’s tenants O'Shea School of Irish Dance, the Center for Irish Music, and the Irish Fair of Minnesota,  Celtic Junction honors Ireland’s rich cultural traditions and is firmly committed to their 21st-century manifestation. “Weaving the traditions of Dance, Music, Art, and Language;” children and families learn, practice and celebrate the Celtic arts in all their forms, in the company of local, national, and international artists whether we are able to gather together at our venue, or gather together online for a virtual concert, dance class, or music session.

An Educational Resource:

The Celtic Junction is a cultural link to the rich history of the Irish experience, locally, regionally, and internationally. All ages are welcome to Celtic Junction’s classes in the Irish language, literature, history, and creative arts.  We offer all of our classes online - some for free. We have found that people benefit from being part of a community that values learning at all ages.

Our academic branch is enhanced by the Irish heritage library, formed around the gift of Dr. Eoin McKiernan’s personal library of over 3500 volumes and a traditional music archive. The bequest of the McKiernan books has been a catalyst to re-envision Celtic Junction's future. The library is a huge repository of Irish-related literary work and scholarship, and we are very excited to house this asset properly for public use.

A Performance Venue:

Celtic Junction has hosted thirteen years of local, national, and internationally-based Celtic artists who presented concerts, workshops, and teaching opportunities in its performing space and studios. Artists have included; Manchán Magan, Altan, Frankie Gavin, Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill, the Tannahill Weavers, Beoga, Kevin Crawford, Archie Fisher, Ten Strings And A Goat Skin, Garnet Rogers, Paddy Keenan, Connla, Kevin Burke, Skara Brae, John Doyle, Alan Kelly, Eileen Ivers, The Fretless, JigJam, and Ye Vagabonds.
