In 1970, the building was donated to grassroots organizer in the neighborhood who wanted to address the needs of the West Bank students and residents. The result was Cedar-Riverside People’s Center, Minnesota’s first free medical clinic. Over the past 50 years, our purpose has remained the same — to provide high-quality, affordable health care to everyone.

Cedar-Riverside People's Center d/b/a People's Center Clinics & Services (People's Center) is a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that delivers high-quality, and affordable care to everyone. People’s Center stands as a beacon of hope in the communities of Longfellow and Cedar-Riverside – a neighborhood that has long been the first stop for New Americans . People's Center's mission is to deliver affordable health care, inspire hope, and promote community wellness. We achieve these pillars by offering integrated medical, dental, behavioral health and supportive services such as in-house interpreters, chronic disease management, and case management, thereby creating an individualized, holistic health care experience for patients.
