A nonprofit organization

CIDNA is the nonprofit neighborhood organization for the Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood in Southwest Minneapolis. We're home to lakes, beaches, parks, trails and businesses. Everyone is welcome in CIDNA and our neighborhood organization is here for you whether you rent, own a condo or home, represent a local business or visit our community. 

Recent community activities include:

  1. Events at South Cedar Beach including a free summer solstice event with activities for children, live music for all ages and free treats.
  2. Initiated and supported the beautiful mural on the side of the restroom at South Cedar Beach.
  3. Supporting the launch of the Uptown Farmers Market, which happens each Thursday from 4-8 pm during the growing season.
  4. Contributed funds towards the establishment of the North High School Foundation – North High is now the high school for our neighborhood.
  5. Neighborhood-sponsored Happy Hours, which help community members connect with one another and support our wonderful local businesses. 

Ongoing events and activities year after year:

  1. Advocacy and engagement with the Met Council on behalf of our neighborhood regarding the SWLRT construction updates and impacts on our community.
  2. Coordination with neighbors and Park Board to maintain the gardens at Park Siding Park during the growing season.
  3. End-of-summer Ice Cream Social and Puppet Show, now happening at Park Siding Park, with free sweet treats for all and a chance to meet neighbors.
  4. Fall Festival which draws hundreds of neighbors and includes live music, food and fun. 
  5. Create and deliver May Day baskets to all residents of Jones-Harrison Senior Living
  6. Annual Holiday Mart on Small Business Saturday
  7. Co-sponsoring nonpartisan candidate forums for local elections (City Council, Park Board, etc.) to keep neighbors informed and engaged. 


MISSION

The Cedar-Isles-Dean Neighborhood Association works for the benefit of its residents and the community at large by promoting civic engagement, encouraging social and cultural exchange, working for the preservation and enjoyment of the natural environment and residential properties, and supporting a vibrant commercial district.

VISION

The Cedar-Isles-Dean Neighborhood is an inclusive, safe, and peaceful community where residents are good stewards of their homes, enjoy and safeguard the natural environment, and care about each other’s well-being.
