The mission of Catholic Charities is to serve those most in need and to advocate for justice in the community.  We are a leader at solving poverty, creating opportunity and advocating for justice in the community. With your help, we're bringing the Power of Home to our neighbors.

Catholic Charities is there in the hardest moments.

Catholic Charities serves those who may have lost everything and need a lifeline to safety, stability, hope and opportunity. Those most in need deserve our very best response - compassionate, high-quality, research-based services to meet immediate needs and to lay a foundation for a better future.

Founded in 1869 and rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, Catholic Charities is a critical part of the region's social and civic infrastructure. We are committed to serving those most in need because it is the right thing to do, the smart thing to do and strengthens our entire community.

That's why we need you.

We focus on four key areas: Housing Stability, Children and Family Services, Aging  & Disability Services, and Social Justice and Advocacy. With your help, we:

  • Serve more than 1.1 million meals annually and provide more than 540,000 nights of housing and emergency shelter at Higher Ground Saint Paul, Higher Ground Minneapolis, Family Service Center and Hope Street for Homeless Youth.
  • Provide the dignity of a home through permanent supportive housing and individualized Housing First services.
  • Create future opportunities through early childhood education and whole family support at Northside Child Development Center.
  • Provide housing support, veterans services, job training and other critical services at the Mary F. Frey Opportunity Center and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Saint Paul Opportunity Center.
  • Support health and wellbeing through innovative medical respite programs for recently hospitalized people experiencing housing instability, individualized support for elderly and disabled adults, and specialized services for homeless elders.
  • Advocate for justice and advance regional vitality through direct service, community partnerships, public engagement and legislative advocacy.

Our incredible volunteers gave more than 146,000 hours of service and nearly 6,000 community members advocated on behalf of those most in need. Catholic Charities is fortunate to be part of such a generous community – we could not do our work alone. With your help, we are creating a better community for all of us.
