Caring for Cats Inc

Caring for Cats is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit no-kill cat shelter, foster, and adoption organization, annually matching over 95% of our surrendered and homeless cats with loving families while providing a safe and nurturing home-like environment for animals still waiting to find their Forever Home.  

2024 was a record year at the shelter, and so far in 2025 we have found homes for 170 cats. With your generous support, Caring for Cats is able to provide an animal welfare enrichment environment through direct care, foster, and shelter programs for every single cat that comes through our doors.   

Our unique programs include our permanent foster program for "less adoptable" cats, and Together Forever providing food and assistance for seniors and others living on a fixed income, and Cat Tales where we welcome children ages 6 to 13 into the shelter where they can read to the kitties and practice their reading skills in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Our kitties love engaging with children and the socialization helps improve their chances of finding a forever home quickly.  

Since 1999, we have continued to educate children and adults about the responsibilities surrounding animal care while granting ongoing medical and health care services to those cats and kittens in our care still hoping to find a loving home.
