Cancer Support Center Inc

Providing transportation to Aitkin County residents (any age) who do not have family, friend or another source to medical appointments.

Cancer Support Center Inc. began in 2001; in 2005 transportation was added (Rides for Health).  As a 501(c)3 we have no paid employees, volunteers cover the office and give rides.  We provide transportation to medically necessary appointments anywhere in Minnesota (need not be cancer related).  In 2012 we gave 137 rides, drove 9,873 miles, spent $3,800 on mileage and volunteer drivers gave 417 hrs.  So far in 2013 we have given 97 rides, drove 9,342 miles, spent $3,550 in reimbursement and drivers have given 377 hrs.  Our mission:  provide transportation that assist the individual in maintaining their independence. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 am to 2 pm to take calls and set up rides.
