Thanks to supporters like you, young people are discovering all that nature has to offer through year-round Camp Fire programs. Through school break and summer camps, afterschool programs, and preK-12 environmental education field trips, youth are able to experience nature's healing benefits and take a much-needed break from technology. When you support Camp Fire, you're creating opportunities for young people to explore the outdoors in a space where they feel safe, welcome, and accepted for who they are. Thank you.
Who We Are
Camp Fire Minnesota energizes youth to grow as leaders and environmental stewards through nature-based programs like:
By the time they're teens, youth spend more than 50 hours a week on a screen. That's more than a full-time job. But we're working to combat that.
In 2019, 6,537 youth participated in nature-based experiences with Camp Fire - with 40% of youth receiving financial assistance.
In 2020, as the pandemic set in we quickly pivoted to share many of our lessons online, launching My Nature Connection to support families and educators with environmental and nature-based activities for youth. To date, these have lessons have reached over 18,000 youth.
In 2021, we held our largest day camp ever, created strong afterschool connections across the metro, and launched our first Nature Immersion School partnership with Exploration High School.
93% of Camp Fire youth value nature and steward the environment.
