This fall, young people submitted artwork, stop motion videos, stories, and poems sharing how being in nature sparks joy, magic, or growth in their world. The creativity of these young people beautifully expresses the importance of what Camp Fire Minnesota has done for the past 100 years and will continue to do for the next 100 years.

At Camp Fire, young people bond through shared experiences, creating a trove of memories and a network of life-long friendships.  We disconnect from technology, providing space to build authentic connections with each other and the natural world.

Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment is at the core of our mission. At Camp Fire, we  encourage young people to discover their own strength and resilience by building confidence in themselves, their peers, and their mentors.

Make a meaningful gift to Camp Fire Minnesota by December 31st and it will be matched up to $16,000 thanks to the generosity of our former board and trustee members. Your contribution directly impacts the lives of young people and fosters an environment where they can build lasting connections, discover their inner strength, and become the next generation of leaders.

Nature can be in the middle of the ocean, on a dusty plain, in a sweltering desert, or in a subterranean lake with axolotls. Nature is beautiful, raw, and diverse. Nature is a prominent feature at Camp Fire Minnesota. Excerpt from “Nature & How it Connects to Me” Fish, age 10 Honorable Mention

Our Impact

The benefits of nature-based programs include sparking creativity and critical thinking skills; reducing nature deficit disorder; increasing healthy lifestyles; and empowering youth to care for their local community and the planet. When youth connect with nature, they gain skills and are healthier, happier, and more empowered to care for the environment. At Camp Fire, we are encouraging more youth to get outside to explore the benefits of nature.

  • 48% of Camp Fire youth attend our programs with financial aid or scholarship support
  • 89% of Camp Fire youth value nature and steward the environment
  • 85% of Camp Fire youth feel a sense of belonging in the Camp Fire community
