Since 1949, Camp Onomia has offered a life changing experience which invites all people to encounter Christ through Creation and Community.

Established as a place set apart for Christian nurture and study, Camp Onomia offers week long summer camps, programmed retreats, and space for individual groups to host their own retreats. As a faith based ministry aligned with the ELCA, Camp Onomia seeks to serve all people regardless of their race, creed, sexual or gender identity, or place within their faith journey.

Faith is nurtured, sown , and grown here. Nurtured through daily rhythms of worship and prayer, Bible study and community life. The seeds of faith are sown by summer staff who become the sunshine encouraging growth. Campers leave here having grown into God's design for them, able to better contribute in a world which is sometimes rather dark!

It is dusk as campers gather around the stone Cross for evening campfire. The sun is setting on Shakopee Lake, the evening breeze blows across the fire circle, and God's kids begin singing songs of faith and hope.
Another awesome day at camp is winding down:
another awesome sunset is waiting to inspire.
Even in the silence of a closing devotion,
Christ speaks to his children young and old!
