What is BWFA? The Brainerd Warrior Football Association - BWFA - can best be explained by our mission statement: The mission of the Brainerd Warrior Football Association is to support Brainerd football programs at all levels. The support will come in the form of financial and in-kind contributions, and the volunteering of time and talents to further the principles of "the Warrior Way." Why this organization? Significant budget cuts in the Brainerd school district have affected nearly every activities program in some way. Even though a program's existence may not be in jeopardy, its quality may be at risk. BWFA's aim is to provide a safety net to help Brainerd football programs remain at their present high level. Brainerd football is not only a source of great community pride, but an opportunity for personal growth for the student-athletes who participate. For these reasons we are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to maintain this tradition. How will BWFA benefit area football? The Brainerd Warrior Football Association will be a means to inform area residents about football program needs, motivate them to provide support, organize and coordinate fund raising and fan events, and deliver both financial support and advocacy, when and where it's needed. What can you do? Above all, support your child as an athlete and student in a positive way. Be a model of good sportsmanship yourself. And take your place in the bleachers on FRiday nights to watch and encourage a gathering of young men who are committed to a common goal, and who enjoy a great sport. Offer your time or talents to this organization. You might distribute programs at a game or scrimmage, or take a turn at the grill or till, selling pop, brats and pizza at a fundraiser. More ways to participate will unfold as our program develops. Make a cash contribution if you can, large or small. BWFA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that offers you a tax deduction for your contribution. In appreciation of your generosity, several different "thank you" items can be yours for different levels of giving. To learn more, contact any BWFA officer or board member via information at our web site, www.brainerdfootball.com. Are you a Warrior "Alum?" Perhaps you're a Brainerd High School graduate, and either participated in the Warrior football program, or simply enjoyed the drama of our won "Friday Night Lights" at Don Adamson Field. If so, you know how important our tradition is. Perhaps you are in a position to give back to a program that gave something of great value to you. We encourage you to give as you can. Alumni giving contacts are Doug Wheeler (218-851-7557) and Dave Main (218-828-0686). BWFA on the web... "Sometimes, not nearly often enough, we're given the opportunity to be a part of something greater than ourselves. And it begins with the belief that we can." -Head Coach, Ron Stolski
