Bowman Second Chance Thoroughbred Adoption

We are located in MN and took in 16 thoroughbreds and 2 other breeds alone this year. We pride ourselves in being able to provide each animal with a loving home. Our horses all go through a step by step process at their own pace. When they arrive, we take intake pictures and note body condition, personality, and any lameness or health issues. From there we customize a feeding program for each horse based on their own individual needs. We consistently re-evaluate body condition as each horses’ needs can change. 

We then give each horse the ability to relax and just “be a horse” with close monitoring. This can be in paddock or stall form based on what each horse needs. We slowly get to know each horse and go through ground work, desensitizing, lunging and eventually riding. 

We go at each horse's own pace and never push a horse to do more than they are ready for.  Some horses require 4-12 months rehab due to injuries they received on the track. We have over 25 years experience with Thoroughbreds and it is continually amazing to see how calm and trusting each horse can get with love, patience and understanding. 

At BSCTA, we also help with providing continued knowledge and support for previous horses adopted through the program.  Through our camps and lessons, we are also able to provide education for generations to come while promoting this beautiful breed.
