Borealis Dance Theatre

Support programming that creates a difference in our arts communities. Your gift this giving season helps us continue to grow our annual international dance film festival, Dance Camera North and our annual conference for public high school students, Minnesota High School Dance Festival (MHSDF). Your gift goes directly to fund these programs and helps make them more accessible to our communities. 

MHSDF fosters a space to honor the work of public high school students while giving presence and value to diversity in dance practices and performance.

This annual conference will bring students from all over Minnesota for a day of masterclasses and performing.  Student choreography is showcased in a supportive community of dancers, educators, and industry professionals. MHSDF is a safe space where students, faculty, and professionals become resources for one another by sharing knowledge, experience, and artistic practice for holistic growth of young artists.

Dance Camera North provides a supportive space for dance filmmakers to challenge choreographic storytelling through film. This innovative platform creates the opportunity to expand the dynamic performative art of dance to larger audiences while pushing the envelope to what is possible through film.

Dance Theatre’s mission is to make the art of dance more accessible to the community by finding new ways to look at our world and reflecting modern life through movement. We are committed to inspiring positive social change through education, collaboration, and integration through the arts within our communities.
