Our mission is to foster in people of all ages an appreciation of the outdoor world where the activities demonstrate connections between natural and cultural environments.
Located on the eastern shores of beautiful Big Stone Lake, Bonanza Education Center (BEC) was established in 1991 through a cooperative partnership with DNR to lease their facility. BEC is surrounded by native prairie, bur oak, basswood forests, and an aquatic environment.
BEC provides hands-on environmental education programs from pre-school through high school. We offer memberships to schools and families. With these memberships they get discounts on programming. We also work with the community to provide other special events.
Over our history, nearly 75,000 students have had the Bonanza experience.
