Blue Earth County Historical Society

For 125 years, the Blue Earth County Historical Society (BECHS) has preserved the stories of our community's teachers, workers, families, and neighbors—people who, just like us today, navigated deep uncertainty with determination and resilience. Now, like many local nonprofits, we find ourselves facing our own modern hardships, navigating rapidly rising utility costs and funding gaps that make caring for our historic collections and buildings harder than ever. Yet, our history reminds us that communities are defined by how they choose to respond to tough times. While our finances have remained steady this year thanks to vibrant new programming and gift shop sales, we still have a vulnerable $54,000 gap remaining to reach our ambitious $125,000 anniversary goal. We cannot cross this finish line alone. Whether you invest your treasure today through a special gift of $125 or $1,250 (or by adding BECHS as a Qualified Charitable Distribution through your IRA), or choose to join us by giving your time and talent, your generosity keeps our shared history alive for the next generation.
