Located in beautiful Northeast Minneapolis, next to Edison High School, the Firefighters Hall and Museum has been open in its current location since 2004. The museum excites the fire buff and fire enthusiast in all of us.  It is staffed by volunteers and retired firefighters and is often referred to as a "hidden treasure."  As budgets in all areas of education continue to face reductions, we are increasingly filling the role of fire safety educators. There are many different items housed in the museum from fire trucks, fire equipment, historic photos, to interactive displays for children! We have an event hall that is perfect for many occasions including, a child’s birthday party, corporate meetings, and social gatherings. There is also a library that has an extensive collection of literature, records, fire department apparatus catalogues and histories, and fire related periodicals. Many people have conducted genealogy research with these resources.

This museum relies solely on the memberships and donations it receives.  The museum’s dedicated volunteers provide all of the museum maintenance, collection display design and build, and docent and tour responsibilities. Additional financial and volunteer support is needed to upgrade and maintain the museum.

We are open the second and fourth Saturdays of every month from 9-4 or by appointment for hall rental, gatherings, tour.  Call/leave a message or email to schedule an event.
