Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities

A nonprofit organization

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities enables all youth to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Mission

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Your support is needed, now more than ever.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities (BGCTC) provides out-of-school time academic and life skills support through age-specific youth development programs and activities to ensure children and teens in under-resourced Twin Cities communities are prepared for successful futures. On a daily basis, though, we also serve as a critical support system to many of our kids and families who have limited resources and are often experiencing job instability, food insecurity, and a lack of permanent housing.

The safety of our kids and families is ALWAYS our number one priority. BGCTC is doing everything possible to keep our kids, staff, and volunteers protected from the spread of COVID-19. During this time we continue to monitor needs in our communities and are increasing supports for our youth and families as they now face additional challenges with school closures, work disruptions, and potential illness and health concerns. We have activated with the following supports:

  • Family wellness check-ins. BGCTC staff members continue to connect with each one of our families to make sure they have the supports they need during this difficult time. These calls focus on immediate needs related to shelter, food, technology needs, and medical care.
  • Connection to and distribution of food. BGCTC has been working diligently with food distributors, grocers, and restaurants to connect families to additional nutrition resources when needed.
  • Delivery of youth development programs as a distance learning model. This includes K-12 academic support, ensuring digital connectivity and distribution of education materials and supplies to youth and families.

Many nonprofit agencies will face financial disruption because of COVID-19, putting serious pressure on operating budgets. BGCTC is living this uncertainty right now. That is why your support is needed now more than ever. We ask that you consider walking alongside our organization during this challenging time by making a gift to support our continued efforts and the continued needs of our kids and families.

Programs

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities serves youth ages 5 through 18 through a variety of programs in our three priority outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Good Character & Leadership. The programs include educational enrichment, technology centers, teen centers, career development, sports and recreation, art classes and leadership development. The programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs seek to foster the abilities within all of our youth and prepare them for the responsibilities of the future.
