The Mission of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon-Hibbing/Chisholm Area is to unite the community to honor and embrace those individuals affected by military service with an outward showing of support to enable a successful transition for service members to bring them all the way home while building a stronger more compassionate community.
We do this by:
- Providing networking opportunities for veterans and service members through events we host and by partnering with other regional organizations to co-sponsor events.
- Creating awareness by hosting Military Appreciation Days, Resource Fairs and participating in home, health and travel shows.
- Connecting veterans and service members to organizations, agencies and companies that provide resources and support.
- Host going away and welcome home events for deploying service members and families
- Coordinate volunteers to support families of service members during deployments, including snow shoveling, lawn maintenance, minor home repairs, provide meals for new mothers and families, and any other support that may be needed.
- Support veterans, service members and family members dealing with emergency financial needs and connect individuals to additional resources.
- Work with local city governments to declare military family/children appreciation month
- Prepare public displays in recognition of military holidays, anniversaries and days of remembrance to be hosted at local libraries
- Providing an opportunity for Minnesotans to support veterans, service members and their families.
- Maintaining a calendar of community veteran related activities - http://www.tinyurl.com/nemnVetCalendar
