Friends of Beechwood, Inc.:

Have you met Mike?

He loves fixing things and riding his bicycle. Mike is a 35 year old man with autism and General Anxiety Disorder; Mike's goals include meeting other people his age and making more friends.  He and his worker have been practicing getting out in the community. Through researching opportunities for meeting new people, Mike happened to find a bike repair class that he is interested in.

Mike shares that he's a bit nervous about changing his routine and meeting new people, but he is willing to give it a try!

Beechwood’s intentional way of building community and inclusion is individualized for each client. For Mike, Beechwood’s services meant that he could discover community classes that allow his love of mechanics to thrive . Because of community support, individuals like Mike can grow in their confidence (along with his friendships) as they pursue their goals.

A gift to Beechwood, Inc. on Give to the Max Day, Thursday November 17, and in any meaningful amount can help provide supportive services, training, and advocacy to individuals like Mike as he pursues a life full of opportunity.
