$5,000 Goal

Through skateboarding, youth are empowered to engage in a healthy activity, gain confidence, discover creativity, and make a difference in their community. Be A Boarder is a Twin Cities based non-profit dedicated to our mission of providing access to skateboarding.

We are dedicated to removing the barriers that prevent kids from participating in skateboarding and are committed to providing access to skateboarding by providing equipment, education, and community engagement. Since 2017, when we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Be A Boarder has been positively impacting the lives of youth in the Twin Cities and beyond.

Please help us meet our goal of $5000 this giving season.

We reach kids in a variety of ways including free clinics, collaborations with schools and youth groups, free skateboards and safety equipment, and community engagement.

With the generous donations of our supporters, we are able to procure the skateboards and safety equipment needed to distribute to those in need. This includes collecting and rehabbing used skate equipment and purchasing new components when needed. Your donation will make a huge difference to the youth we serve and empower.

Thanks to our generous supporters, 2024 has been a great year! We began by helping launch the Lake Country Skate Club by providing complete skateboards and safety equipment. We held a board build event at the annual King Of The Groms youth skateboarding competition at 3rd Lair Skatepark in Golden Valley. It was amazing to see so many new faces and so many folks getting involved! We expanded our equipment drop off locations in order to make it easier to pass along gear that still has some life in it. We supported a group of people in recovery looking to skateboarding as a healthy alternative to substance abuse by providing shoes and equipment. Our second big event this year was in collaboration with the St. Paul Saints. In May, we held a board build and offered free skate instruction and demos at our Sk8 Paul Saints event at CHS field in Saint Paul. We even collaborated with the Saints to release a limited edition skateboard with a custom graphic to commemorate the event. Be A Boarder was able to share its message with a new audience, raise money for our programs, and teach kids to skate during the game. Our main focus continues to be providing access to skateboarding, which we did in many ways throughout the year including collaborations with local community organizations. We cannot do this alone and our volunteers make all of this possible!

We hope you’ll consider supporting us in our 2025 endeavors. Our generous donors make everything we do possible.
