B the Light

B the Light is a 501(c)3, started in 2016 by breast cancer survivor Amber Melby, in honor of her "Aunt B", Brenda Plinke, who battled metastatic breast cancer for 18 years before she passed away in 2018. She lived by the motto “Never Give Up Hope!” and inspired all who knew her. B the Light seeks to honor Aunt B’s legacy by coordinating ways for survivors to connect with others and with resources of support.

To pursue this mission, leadership has created and collaborated in three initiatives to support and empower survivors close to home. 

💖  ReLight Retreats - featuring self-care, relaxation, and connection between survivors, 

💖  Hope Getaways - designed to give nominated survivors a chance to go to their dream destination.

💖  Hope Handbags - these inspirational bags include financial support and gifts from local businesses to lift the spirits of the recipient. 

💖  Donations - Nominated survivors receive a cash donation of $500 to help with personal items or medical expenses needed on their cancer journey.

Today, for #GiveToTheMaxDay, we ask for your support so that we can continue working for these brave warriors. Your donation will go toward these programs as well as the cultivation of future offerings to uphold and grow our mission.
